Trinity College Dublin tops the Irish university league table – The Times

This year’s third-level rankings are full of significant firsts led by Trinity College Dublin once again. Trinity has never slipped from No 1 in Ireland, but this year its lead is the biggest recorded in all 20 editions of the Good University Guide. Its 59-point advantage over University College Dublin makes any overthrow of the status quo extremely unlikely in the next few years.
Our new rankings are also the first opportunity for the two technological universities created in the past year — Munster and Shannon — to pit themselves against the old guard. They acquit themselves well, albeit using data that derives exclusively from their predecessor institutions, ranking eighth and ninth respectively, directly beneath the seven longer-established universities.
