A degree in any of these courses will give you the skills you need to process and analyze any form of data. Of course, due to the level of interest many universities are now offering dedicated undergraduate courses in data science and analytics too.

With a basic understanding of data science, here’s what you need to know before studying data science in the UK:
Having a degree is not always enough, most data scientists also undertake online training to learn a special skill such as deploying machine learning models to the cloud or learning new methods for improving the performance of computer vision-based predictive models.
Apart from classroom learning, you can participate in Kaggle or CodaLab, which are examples of an online community of data scientists and machine learning practitioners that enable you to learn more by competing.
The skills you have learned during your degree programme, and outside your studies, will enable you to easily transition to data science at postgraduate level.
Look at whether the university you are considering offers further support.
For example, additional introductory courses which will allow you to enhance your data science knowledge or prepare you if you do not have a background in computer science.
